Introduction: Maintenance immunosuppressive regimens after renal transplantation (RTx) most often include prednisolone which may induce secondary adrenal insufficiency. Adrenal insufficiency is a potentially life-threatening side effect to glucocorticoid treatment due to the risk of acute adrenal crisis.
